2026 Artistic Gymnastics World Cup Series

World Gymnastics (formerly known as FIG) annually organizes a World Cup Series, which is typically categorized into two main divisions:
► World Cup Series
► World Challenge Cup Series

Each series consists of five or six competitions, exclusively featuring individual apparatus finals (with no All-Around or Teams competitions). Each competition comprises two distinct rounds: qualifying events conducted on the first two days, followed by finals held on the third and fourth days.

2026 World Cup Series MAG Rankings

Points Allocation & Ranking System

The winner of the annual Apparatus World Cup Series is the gymnast with the highest number points on their chosen apparatus at the end of the Series. They only count the best results (up to 3*), no matter how many competitions the athletes competed in.

* It used to be up to 4 before the Doha World Cup was canceled.

At the end of every competition, points get assigned on apparatus by looking first at the competitors in the Apparatus Finals, and then checking out those who ranked in the Qualifications, as follows:

2026 World Championships Qualification

The 2026 World Cup Series will serve as qualification pathway for the 2026 World Championship. Consequently, a distinct ranking list for World Championships Qualification will be instituted. There’s a maximum of two gymnasts by NOC per apparatus. The 8 highest ranked eligible gymnasts per apparatus (for a maximum of 48 male athletes) will qualify by name.

Stakes and Conditions

World Gymnastics requires a venue that can seat at least 3,000 people, plus a nearby warm-up/training hall fully stocked with all the gear for MAG and WAG. Here are the factors for selecting a city for the organization of w World Cup:
– the highest prize money and other perks for the gymnasts and their federations
– hosts need to put on the Apparatus World Cup every year in the same place and around the same time
– the best media exposure possible

Prize Money

The organizing member federation must pay the minimum prize money of CHF32,500 (€35,500 | US$42,200) for each World Cup as follows:

World Gymnastics will also pay an additional prize money of CHF,5000 (€5,560 | US$6,500) to the best ranked gymnast per apparatus of each Series.
