During the High Bar final, William Emard‘s grips broke during his routine. According to the Code of Points, gymnasts are permitted to repeat their routine in the event of such equipment failures. Following this guideline, William replaced his grips, executed a second routine, and ultimately secured a bronze medal, thereby sharing the podium with his teammate Félix Dolci and Marios Georgiou from Cyprus.

From Birmingham 2022 to Glasgow 2026
Men’s artistic gymnastics at the 2022 Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham was markedly dominated by the England team, which secured gold in 7 out of the 8 finals, totaling 11 medals overall. The English contingent comprised Jake Jarman, who would subsequently achieve the status of World Champion and Olympic medalist within the next two years, along with World Champions Joe Fraser and Giarnni Regini-Moran, and European Champions James Hall and Courtney-Tulloch.
At the 2026 Commonwealth Games, Canada made a remarkable return to Britain, securing a total of 10 medals, which included a gold medal in the Teams Final. Félix Dolci achieved the distinction of winning 5 individual medals, while both William Emard and René Cournoyer earned 2 medals each. Additionally, Jordan Carroll claimed the gold medal on the Pommel Horse.
In 2026 Canada came back to Britain with a vengeance and snatched 10 medals, including gold in the Teams Final. Félix Dolci won 5 individual medals, William Emard and René Cournoyer won 2 each and Jordan Carroll won gold on Pommel Horse.
Australia and Scotland each secured three additional medals at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, with both nations claiming a gold medal. Reuben Ward from Scotland triumphed in the All-Around competition, while Jesse Moore from Australia achieved victory on the Parallel Bars final.
Veteran Marios Georgiou from Cyprus won four medals in 2022, including a bronze in the Teams Final, and maintained commendable records in Glasgow with two silver medals in the Parallel Bars and Horizontal Bar events. Marios competed for the first time at the Commonwealth Games in 2028 in Brisbane, where he secured two gold medals in the Floor and High Bar categories. Since then, he has attained a total of nine medals at the Commonwealth Games.
