2025 European Men’s Gymnastics Championships: A silver farewell to Andreas Toba

It was Andreas Toba’s last competition. The German gymnast announced before the competition that he would retire after these Championships that took place in his home country. He was visibly moved by the silver medal that he won on Horizontal Bar.

Andreas is a four-time Olympian. During the qualification rounds at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, he participated in the floor exercise, during which he sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury. He visibly injured and in pain – yet he subsequently completed a pommel horse routine and contributed to Germany’s qualification for the finals.
