Increasing Diversity in the Top 10
These are the rankings of male gymnasts who competed between 2021 and 2024; they include 4 competitions:
– 2021 World Championships
Kitakyushu, Japan 🇯🇵
– 2022 World Championships
Liverpool, Great Britain 🇬🇧
– 2023 World Championships
Anvers, Belgium 🇧🇪
– 2024 Olympic Games
Paris, France 🇫🇷
65 gymnasts won at least one World or Olympic medal during this period.
In order to adequately evaluate the significance of each medal, a bonus system has been implemented. A bronze medal does not hold the same value as a gold medal, and the Olympic Games are esteemed as the preeminent event for any gymnast. Consequently, each medal possesses a distinct worth contingent upon the type of competition:

For example: a silver medal won on the Pommel Horse at Worlds is worth 2+1=3 points
A gold medal in the All Around at the Olympics is worth 3+2+2=7 points
