THE REVIEW OF THE FINAL VERSION OF THE 2025-2028 MAG COP IS AVAILABLE HERE
A provisional copy of the 2025-2028 Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Code of Points has been released. Here are the main changes in the evaluation of the exercises.
Upgraded and Downgraded Elements & Changes in the Evaluation of the Exercises
GENERAL
NUMBER OF ELEMENTS (except Vault):
Back to 8 elements: The difficulty value of a routine is the combined total of the 8 elements with the highest value. That’s the best 7 (with a maximum of 4 elements for the same Element Group) + the dismount
ELEMENT GROUPS VALUES (except Vault):
The value by default is currently 0.5 for each of the four Element Groups. In the next COP, the value will be calculated as follows:
EG 1:
0.5
EG II and EG III:
If the highest-rated elements performed are between A and C, 0.3 will be awarded. if the highest-rated elements performed are D+, 0.5 will be awarded.
DISMOUNT (except Floor Exercise):
The EG value will equal the value of the element performed. For example, if the Fardan (rated G) is the dismount of a High Bar routine, the gymnast will receive 0.7 for the element and 0.7 for the EG value, i.e. 1.4, instead of 1.2 with the current COP.
STUCK LANDING DISMOUNT BONUS
On all apparatuses except the Pommel Horse, gymnasts will receive a 0.1 bonus if the element is rated at least C, and for vaults with saltos in the new Code of Points.
FLOOR EXERCISE

DURATION:
70 seconds
ELEMENT GROUPS:
EG IV is now “Single salto forward and backward with 1 or more turns”, which means that some elements from EG II and II are moved to this group, like the layout triple twist front (Shirai II) and backward or the layout quadruple twist backward (Shirai/Nguyen)
COMPOSITION:
The same diagonal may not be used more than 2 times in a row.
Gymnasts must show a balance element on one leg; it may be performed outside of the counting 8 elements
DISMOUNT:
A multiple salto element is required for the dismount (Seniors)
